There are not enough superlatives to describe this wonderful woman. She was given the unenviable task of being my Godmother, for which I am truly thankful. She was the first person in the family to whom I introduced Sue, and her approval meant an awful lot. Sue absolutely adored her despite being told to 'shut up' . We loved being with her and we ribbed each other constantly. We will love and miss her always. Laurie and Sue

Mum,
You were my first, my truest and my best friend. You were my lodestar, my wise counsellor, my foundation. Wherever I go and whatever I do, you will always be a part of me.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Margaret, or 'Midge' as she was always known to me, was a constant throughout my life due to her friendship with my parents and my lifelong friendship with her middle daughter, Maggie. When my mother had to go into a care home with severe dementia ten years ago, Midge became my 'proxy' Mum and I will always be so grateful to her for her advice and support particularly when I lost my youngest son in 2011. I will miss her tremendously but am grateful that my Mum, although still with us, will not understand that she has lost a friend who knew her for over 70 years.
